The first thing I was going to need is a UV light box. Again, I could have bought one but where's the fun in that? I found a great example on insrutuctables.com of a UV Led based one, so decided to make on based on that design.

We had an old case which had been lying around in the garage for years. It had some cheap kitchen knives in it which for some reason I bought many years and never used.

We bought some UV LED's from Ebay for about £8 (spec of these described on instructables.com)

We wired up all the LED's, resistors and links and tested it on the bench PSU.
